Programs
MedOffice Career Institute offers two streams of programs for learning and upgrading medical office career skills. We have certificate programs for students who want to learn the skills required for a medical office career, and employee training programs for those who are working in the field and wish to upgrade their skills.
Employee Training Programs
Our employee training programs are geared towards equipping office staff with the tools that they need to keep up to date with Ontario billing practices, software training, Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS) training and Health Claims for Auto Insurance (HCAI) training. Ensuring that your employees are properly trained in software and regulatory guidelines can potentially save a practice thousands of dollars a year in billing mistakes and lost man hours due to inefficiencies.
Minor Injury Guideline
MOCI's Minor Injury Guideline course answers essential questions about the Minor Injury Reform in Accident Benefits. You’ll gain practical knowledge of SABS sections related to med/rehab benefits, perform a Minor Injury Guideline detailed study, and receive important instructions and tips and tricks on successfully completing and tracking OCF-23s, billing, and the coordination of extended health benefits.
Medical Assessment Course
Medical Assessments: OCF-18 is not designed for assessment purpose (comparing with OCF-22). Learn how to complete a Treatment and Assessment plan if the patient needs to be assessed for his entitlement for specified benefits. As the clinical information and assessment description are omitted in the OCF-18, learn which parts of the OCF-18 should be used to explain why the patient requires an in-home assessment.
HCAI Interaction Course
The HCAI Interaction course at MOCI teaches you how to successfully setup and maintain communication with HCAI within Universal Office – including how to record HCAI facility specific information, add/change provider information, keep insurance information updated, and restrict/control user access to HCAI functionality. You will also learn how to submit HCAI documentation, review and print adjuster responses, understand information errors, and re-submit OCFs using Universal Office.
Extended Health File Management Course
The Extended Health File Management Course provides you with the tools to optimize your work with patients covered by EHC plans. You will learn the proper way to conduct the intake process, how to monitor a patient’s available coverage, and prepare a claim form using Universal Office as the Practice Management System (PMS).
Universal Office®, developed and distributed by Antibex Software, is used in every course as the Practice Management and Claim Form automation system.
